Routers & Firewalls

Ubiquiti UniFi gateways, routers and security gateways — Cloud Gateway, Dream Machine and UISP models — which is where routing, firewalling and UniFi network management live in a UniFi build.
This is the part to choose first: the gateway sets your throughput ceiling, how many UniFi devices you can adopt, and whether you get built-in Protect for cameras. Switches and access points are easy to add later, a gateway swap is not.
